The YX-11.ZIP archive contains several small OS/2 command line utilities
which may be used with YEP to add novelty and functionality. Each program
has it's own small DOC file outlining it's usage, but here is a summary
of the programs included:
GRBQUOTE - this program may be used to output random sections
of a text file. It might be useful for maintaining a
file of quotations from books, or ascii art, to be
used in SIGs or whatever you can imagine. An example
of it's use is given in the default YEP.CFG file.
(the QUOTES file in YX-11.ZIP is an example quotation
file also used in the example - placed in root dir)
MOONDAYS - this program will simply report the current "age"
(or "phase") of the moon. In the default YEP.CFG
is an example custom header which uses it.
DATEFILE - this program will accept a quoted string on the
command line and replace the @d and @t, if found,
with the current date/time. This could be used
with YEP to import the exact current, local, date
and time into a SIG file, if wanted.
SHAKES - this is a "shakespearean insult generator" and outputs
'shakespearean' sounding insults. Use your imagination
with this one. (-;
SCOOTER - this has nothing to do with YEP, and in fact can't
be used with YEP. I was forced to include it by a
huge curly moose with voodoo powers! I obey, master.
